We’re Hiring: Architectural Technologist / Designer
Golden Bee Homes is growing and we’re looking for an Architectural Technologist/Designer to join our team.
This role is for someone who loves turning ideas into clear, buildable plans. Someone who understands that great design doesn’t stop at creativity, it lives in precision, coordination, and drawings that make construction smoother, not harder.

We’re a residential renovation firm, but more than that, we operate a system. A system that takes a vision and turns it into a finished home through clear process, strong communication, and respect for the details. We believe a great project starts with a solid plan, and this role plays a critical part in making that happen.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll take approved design intent and verified site information and translate it into accurate, construction-ready drawing sets and renderings, without guesswork or rework. Your work will directly support our design and construction teams, helping projects move confidently from concept to build.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Producing coordinated, construction-ready drawings aligned with approved layouts, scope, and design direction
- Creating renderings that accurately reflect documented decisions
- Maintaining organized and up-to-date design files
- Documenting revisions, clarifications, and escalations as they arise
- Identifying gaps in standards or potential issues early, before they reach the site
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in residential or small-scale renovation projects who understands how drawings translate into real-world construction.
You should bring:
- Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling/rendering tools (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, D5, or similar)
- Experience creating construction drawing sets that have gone to build
- Familiarity with lighting plans, material specifications, and FF&E documentation
- A working understanding of residential construction assemblies and Ontario Building Code concepts
- Comfort flagging structural, fire separation, or insulation concerns during the drawing phase
- A willingness to visit project sites for measurements or reviews when needed
How We Work
At Golden Bee Homes, we value ownership over box-checking. We communicate clearly and early, follow systems that exist for a reason, and take pride in work that helps the next person do their job better. We don’t expect perfection, but we do expect learning, accountability, and care.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $40,000–$60,000, based on experience
- Full-time, permanent position
- Extended health, dental, and vision coverage
- Life and disability insurance
- Paid time off and statutory holidays
- Mileage reimbursement for required site visits
If this sounds like a fit, we’d love to hear from you!
